Purpose of The Association
1. The name of the
Association is "Glen Meadows Golf Members Association", Hereinafter
sometimes referred to as "the Association".
2. The purposes of the
Association are:
a) To represent the members in negotiations with " Glen Meadows Golf
and Country Club ", a division of Criddle Enterprises Limited and
its successors, situated at 1050 McTavish Road, R.R. #2, Sidney
British Columbia, and to make representations to the said Glen
Meadows Golf and Country Club on behalf of the members of the
Association.
b) To organize and conduct intramural social and competitive golfing
events and entertainment for and on behalf of the members of the
c) Association; but not to own, operate or manage a Social Club.
With the approval and direction of a Special Resolution of the
members of the Association, to direct Glen Meadows Golf and Country
Club, on behalf of the Association, to impose special monetary
assessments on all of the active members of the Association for the
purpose of raising funds to be held and administered in trust by the
Association on behalf of the contributing members, to be expended
through Glen Meadows Golf and Country Club for the further purpose
of facilitating the improvement of the general playing condition of
the Golf Course and the improvement of the clubhouse facilities and
amenities of Glen Meadows Golf and Country Club.
d) To negotiate with and enter into agreements with Glen Meadows
Golf and Country Club to establish the conditions under which the
Association may contribute any trust funds which are subject to
Clause 2.(c) herein to Glen Meadows Golf and Country Club for the
purpose of achieving the objectives of the Association's members
respecting and facilitating the improvement of the general playing
condition of the Golf Course and the improvement of the Clubhouse
facilities and amenities of Glen Meadows Golf and Country Club.
e) To solicit, organize, coordinate and support groups of volunteers
from among the Association's members for the purpose of assisting in
the operation of specified Open Golf Tournaments and other definable
episodic ventures conducted proprietarily by, and in the name of,
Glen Meadows Golf and Country Club, and in respect thereto, to
negotiate with Glen Meadows Golf and Country Club for its
undertakings to expend the net proceeds earned from such specified
Open Golf Tournaments and other episodic ventures on improvement of
general playing conditions of the Golf Course and the improvement of
the Clubhouse facilities and amenities of Glen Meadows Golf and
Country Club
f) On behalf of the members of the Association as golfing members of
Glen Meadows Golf and Country Club, to uphold the rules and
regulations of the Royal Canadian Golf Association, the Canadian
Ladies Golf Association, the British Columbia Golf Association and
any other similar Association.
g) To aid and assist Glen Meadows Golf and Country Club and the Club
Golf Professional, as agreed between the parties from time to time,
in the planning and administration of the scheduling of golf play
generally, and in the administration of members' and other golf
tournaments and events.
h) To aid and assist in the development of Junior Golf Members at
Glen Glen Meadows Golf and Country Club and elsewhere.
i) Generally to carry out any endeavor approved by the members of
the Association and which is not inconsistent with the spirit of the
objects of the Association. The operations of the Association are to
be chiefly carried on in the District of North Saanich, in the
Province of British Columbia. |
